I would vey much prefer it if AIT was the same as basic. At least at basic I accomplished stuff, or when i did, I felt accomplished. here, you graduate, your reward is to help clean up the base until you can leave. It's utter bullshit.

I am sick and tired of this crap. I have been on this piece of shit Army post since October the sixth, and I am still treated like I'm some newfag who hasn't earned any priveleges or respect.
People who have been here since December look down on me.
Let me explain, in AIT, we have a phasing process. they look at your locker to make sure it's standard, your dress greens, and how well you know certain army related subject. You must also pass a physical training test. If you get all of these things done well enough, you are allowed to phase up, from four, which is a white badge, no special privelges, to five, yellow badge, you can wear civilian clothes and go offpost, smoke, and have a free weekend. I did ALL of the above mentioned, except pass my pt test. I developed back problems. So i have been phase four this entire time. Time passes and I decide to stop giving a shit and I do pretty much what i want anyway. I stay out of trouble, except some very minor things, and I focus on passin school and helping my mentally troubled friends. I pass, I help them, and I still can't pass a pt test. You'd think they would let me phase up anyway, but no.
So I know a lot about what goes on around here, where to go for what you need, how to get it, and etcetera. But because I'm still white badged, everbody treats me like crap, like I know nothing at all, and it really ticks me off.
Case in point- 4th platoon, the inact platoon (those who have graduated and are waiting on transfer papers or the like) is led by Teter, a very squared-away white badged soldier. He, too, is held back by pt. But he is constantly disrespected by phased up people in the platoon. Today, we had to stay outside in formation longer than we would have liked, because Teter wasn't fully certain if our platoon sergeant was finished with us or not. So they start talking when we aren't supposed to, bullshitting and the like. He tells them repeatedly to lock it up and stay at attention, but they don't want to listen. this is a frequent occurrence, so he has started making a list of names to turn in, and they'll be dealt with by the sgts. People don't seem to care, until we get close to being let out of formation. Then they start asking if their names are on it, and he won't tell them. So on this particular day, a female named Hawkins is bitching because she wants to go and do her own thing. (She's a repeat offender.) She demands to know if her name is on the list. he tells her not to worry about it. She starts to whine about how she has to stand in formation for no reason, and how we should just fall out and go inside. I tell her to shut up and quit disrespecting Teter, and she tells me, and I quote:"Get off his dick!" she turns to her friend and giggles stupidly, then:"What? She must be fucking him, why else would she stick up for him?"
I nearly turned around and ripped the bitch's head off.
"Why should i respect him? he's a phase four."

Once your head is empty of all the thoughts that society puts in it, perhaps then you will be able to see what the world around you truly is.
